Day 2 of The Simply Striped Pillow Blog Hop

Day 2 of the Simply Striped Pillow Blog Hop !

            Simply Striped Pillow Blog Hop
                             March 3

Welcome to my first Blog Hop on Susie's Sunroom!

I invited six "super star" quilters to make a pillow "any way you like" from  one pattern-
the Simply Striped Accent Pillow Pattern   { available on my Craftsy here}!
This is my tutorial style pattern for making a 13 inch square  decorative pillow.

Today, the second day of the blog hop  , I am sharing a pillow done  the "Susie's Sunroom" way !

Meet Susie and her creative consultant,  Whiskers

I decided to make a pillow that would coordinate with the Spinning In the Rain Block of the Month quilt that I am making.  ( Spinning in the Rain BoM at Sew Lux Fabrics.)
I am using  the   V and Co.  " Color Me Happy" fabric line for the quilt, and absolutely LOVE this fabric!

Block #9, has a large and a mini size paper pieced pinwheel.   The mini block measures 6 inches square, and I thought how cute would a 3 inch teensie block be!

 A Color Me Happy Pinwheel family   { the pillow is flat here}

My Simply Striped Accent Pillow with a paper pieced  pinwheel stripe     Susie's Sunroom

The pillow back- I used the white kona fabric that is the background fabric in my quilt

I am so happy when I look at my new Spinning in the Rain pillow!!

You can make your own version of a pillow to coordinate with a quilt you are making .                             The pattern is avalable in my Craftsy Shop {here}.

I can't wait to see the other pillows from  all of these amazing quilters...

  1. Wow, Susie, I ADORE your pillow! I am envious that I didn't make mine with tiny blocks like yours! I love making mini blocks and this pattern is great because it doesn't require too many. Great way to try your hand at some new minis! The fabric is gorgeous and your pieced back looks so fresh and clean!

  3. LOL, I just KNEW that you would somehow have paper pieced blocks on your pillow Susie! Such darling little ones too - wow 3 inches! I too adore this pillow! The little Spinning in the Rain blocks play so well with the Color Me Happy fabric you chose! Can't wait to see the quilt!

  5. This is so cute! A fun side with the pinwheels, perfect for Spring, and the I love the white "elegant" side with the green. It's lovely Susie. How clever those teensy pinwheels!! I need more green in my stash.

  9. The colors are so bright and cheerful and the pinwheels are charming on the simple stripe! The pillow is especially wonderful amid the variety of pretty pinwheel blocks! I do also love the back -- the green strip is so pretty against the kona white!
