A Duel Personality Bag and A Giveway

The " Is It a Diaper Bag or Is It a Travel Bag? " Giveaway !

The Nappy Bag Pattern   pattern available at Sewing Pattens by Mrs H

One thing  (oh, and I admit there are alot !)  that I can't refuse, is the opportunity to  test a new pattern by the talented designer, Samantha,  of  At Home With Mrs H blog.

Samantha,  or Mrs H,  is expecting a little baby soon, and decided to design her own diaper bag.   (They call them Nappy bags, in Wales where she lives.)  Since I won't be expecting any babies (that was 24 yrs ago!) ,  I made my Nappy  bag with just a few minor changes. This will be perfect for me when I am traveling.

My Nappy Bag -
The Nappy Bag        in Joel Dewberry' s Bungalow fabrics

Pattern:  The Nappy Bag      by Sewing Patterns by Mrs H
Bag Dimensions:      18 " wide x 10 " high x 5 " deep

Fabrics:   Joel Dewberry   Bungalow-  Dahlia Grass ,Chevron Lavendar & Hive Pink
               Quilters Linen Print Pink
Long Strap : Adjustable, over- the- body with swivel clips (optional)
Bag Top Zipper:      22 " long
Pockets:      outer front  - magnetic snap closure for the flap
outer back -   optional velcro closure, with hidden zipper pocket inside
outer side pockets -  2  - elastic- edged
                  inner lining zippered pocket
inner large slip pocket and divided slip pocket on other side
                  inner bottle holders(elastic)- optional

Stablizer:   I used Annies Soft and Stable.  It is a pleasure to use... lightweight , flexible and  easy to sew!

My adaptations to make this a travel bag:

I didn't add elastic to the top of the lining pockets, or on the outer side pockets.

Top View     see the outer back pocket and the hidden  zippered pocket !

The outer front pocket easily holds a tablet.
Notice the  stylish flap that closes by a magnetic snap

Back outer pocket with my cell phone

The outer side pockets -  holding my cell phone in an otter case

  1. Susie, another wonderful bag! My Baby Lucy is still using nappies so I'd start using it as a nappy bag and then use it as a Mummy bag!

  2. Great bag, could be used for almost everything. I would start using it as a Nana bag (when kids come and I take them on day trips, zoo, picnic, out to eat etc). It would be great as a craft bag (with all the little pockets available. Or it could be a busy bag for my Grands. (they love it when I let them create.....Thanks for the opportunity!

  3. Samantha is lucky to have you as tester, Susie!! I know what I say!! Gorgeous and stylish bag. Your fabric choices are always so lovely! And your attention to details counts a lot! Such pretty kitty - she knows what's better!

  4. Great bag! I'd certainly use the pattern to make diaper bags for friends or family expecting babies. No more babies for me (my youngest is 6), but there are always others having babies. Thanks for linking to TGIFF, and for the chance to win.

  5. I''d use this as an overnight bag

  6. Pretty bag Susie!! I tossed my diaper bag last month and boy was that a great feeling so I would not be making a diaper bag either. I am not a bag maker but if I did make this bag i think I would make it as a camera bag. All of your bags are so professionally finished!

  7. I am partial to large plastic zippers. Don't know why... I love the vivid colors that are so modern and girly at the same time. You are a bag pro! Can I come over for a lesson? LOL

  8. Great pattern! Love the bag. I would use it for traveling. Thanks!

  9. Like it! While I have left nappies long behind, I always need a camera bag, and this one looks just the right size for it (plus for the usual stuff I carry around like poop bags, spare lead andother bric-a-brac). No, seriously, bag is really nice.

  10. Looks like a cat nappy bag. I would use it for travel.

  11. I also would use it for travel. My cats always have to test run any bag I make! Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  12. The bag is beautiful and Whiskers looks so cute!! Well, it's a nappy bag, what else would you use it for but to nap on it :)

  13. Beautiful pattern, fabric and bag. I'd use it for local or long-distance travel. Thank you for the opportunity. :-)

  14. I would use it as a travel bag or project bag when I taking classes.
Great bag, love your fabric choices - thanks for the giveaway.
