A Honey of a Mug Rug

A Honey of a Mug Rug

When I am  looking for a fun project , that doesn't take a ton of time, I simply  hop on over to The Patchsmith's Craftsy  page to find a mug rug pattern to make!

I found this  dear bee themed mug rug , and decided to make a  gift for my sister-in-law.  She loves anything with bees.  (She's the "bees knees!" )

Honey Bee Mug Rug    design by Amanda, The Patchsmith
Made by Susie's Sunroom

Some simple Blanket Stitches and "bee trails"  stitched by  machine

The mug rug was so much fun to create, using scraps for the raw edge applique.   I was able to use my Topaz  sewing machine for the stitch work. (Even the word "honey.")

Such a sweet design

The back side was a bee and hive  fabric.

As much fun as it is to make a mug rug, it is even more fun to give them away as a gift!  I know this is one of the reasons that I am so addicted to them!!

Well, it is time for me to buzz on  over to work on  my February 19 th  project....
Remember, the   Hugs and Kisses  Blog Hop   starts on February 12 !

I'm off to my sewing room!

  1. Love it. You have more control over your machine than I, doing your bee-line by machine!! I hope your Sister-in-law liked it. xxx
