A Log Cabin Cross Mug Rug

The Log Cabin Cross Mug Rug

Mug rugs can be the perfect little gift to make for a friend's  birthday.  So I was thrilled when Amanda, The Patchsmith , released her newest mug rug pattern the other day! Her timing was perfect!

The Patchsmith's new pattern.... Log Cabin Cross Mug Rug pattern  {here}

I just  love Amanda's  bright and beautiful , "Easter " colored version!

 I dug up some of my  beautiful Dogwood blossoms scraps to make my own Log Cabin Cross mug rug.

I  just love using Amanda's patterns!!

**  The  directions are clear and the diagrams are excellent.  And always accurate!!I
  I print out the directions and follow them right on my cutting mat.  ( I can easily get confused with "just reverse the block"  kind of directions!  That's not the case with The Patchsmith directions! )

**  She includes the size of each component, so I can trim as I go, to make the final block the accurate size !

**  This pattern  even includes a foundation paper pieced pattern to make the log cabin block! I'll try that method the next time I make the cross.

** This pattern also includes directions for making little hanger pockets, to use the log cabin cross as a mini wallhanging !

I apologize for the  faded colors in my photos.  The weather was not cooperating with the pale pink colors.

And here is the back of the mug rug...  I'll tell you a secret.....

I used the "wrong side" of the fabric, to get the muted colors.... shhhhhhhh!

This little log cabin cross would make a beautiful gift as a wallhanging for a baptism, a confirmation, and  for Easter!

What a clever design; marrying the log cabin block with a cross, Amanda!

This mug rug, and oodles more, can be found at The Patchsmith { HERE  }.

There's lots of time to make one for Easter!  And you'll find many more  designs that  are perfect for Spring time!!

I'm off to my sewing room!
