Sewing Along with The Patchsmith

Sewing Along with The Patchsmith

This month I have been  enjoying making the week 2  sampler block, with
The Patchsmith's Sampler Sew-Along!  It has been so fun.  This is a no-pressure sew along.  It will be easy to catch up if I find I get behind.

Block # 2:  Guiding Star   6.5"  sq unfinished

I used some charm squares from my Bumble Berries  (Moda) charm pack, and the blue fabric is from a charm pack of Aloha Girl, by Fig Tree & Company.

These  4 friendship stars are each 3.5 " unfinished squares, so I definitely used my BlocLoc  rulers to make them accurately.   Amanda, on her The Patchsmith blog,  has  excellent tips to help make accurate HST's, too.

I have to confess that I actually made this  #2 Guiding Star block before I made  block #1 Brick Wall .  I really liked how Amanda created the top left friendship star with the background using the  dark fabric.

I 'll be checking in again with the next block... Block #3  Watermelon.   (I bet you figured out that I made it already!! )

I'm off to my sewing room!
