Moooooo-ore Farm Girl Vintage Blocks Made

Lori Holt's Book "Farm Girl Vintage"
Sew Along here

I've been keeping busy sewing a couple of Farm Girl Vintage  blocks every week.   This is such a scrapy, happy project!  I have been making the smaller, 6 1/2 inch , size blocks, and enjoying every minute of it.
(You can see them as I make them:  on my Instagram-   @SusiesSunroom on your IG app or at the instagram button on the right of my blog page. )

Here are my latest Farm Girl Vintage blocks:

Out to Pasture Block:

Patchwork Pumpkin Block:

Peas and Carrots Block:

I added yellow , like Lori Holt put in  hers, for some yellow squash

Pie Cherries Block:

Pinwheels Block:

Postage Stamp Block:

This picture is closer to the true colors

Scrappy Maple Leaf block:

Scrappy Strawberry Block:

The little squares in the pumpkin , postage stamp and strawberry are  just 1 1/2 inch in size!

Oh, and there's one moooooooooo-re block I want to share with you...

It's a Patchwork Cow Block,   designed by Amanda, The Patchsmith!  { here }
She just knew our Farm Girl Vintage quilts needed a little cow block, too !

Isn't her Daisy cow so cute! Amanda's directions tell you exactly how to make a 6 inch block, or a 12 inch block , or this adorable mug rug!!

After I got my Patchwork Cow pattern,  I decided that I wanted to make my cow a " purple cow."  (Technically , she is purple with orange spots.  I think she is a  Holstein cow.)

Did you learn the little "Purple Cow" poem when you were young and first learning about the beautiful imagary of poetry?

The Purple Cow                          by Gelett Burgess        published in 1895 (Wikipedia)

I never saw a Purple Cow,
I never hope to see one,
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one!

I think these two will get along fine!

I am beginning to think about the sashing , borders and the  backing for the quilt finish!
I can't wait to see them all together.

I'm off to my sewing room!
