It is exciting and inspiring to see quilters starting up new quilt block projects for the new year. I wish I could do more of them, don't you?

It measures about 14 inches by 14 inches.
I have been seeing so many fantastic new Sew Alongs and BoMs and resolutions, to simplify and get organized. So I spent a day away from the sewing machine (sigh) , and filed away all of the paper I have been accumulating (patterns, tutorials and ideas for the future. ) As I was picking up ( or "redding up" as we say in my family) my sewing room, I

I love the bright colors in these two blocks. Orange and turquoise are fun together!
If you are like me, and have any Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt blocks started, I invite you to make a few , as you can, along with me this year.
Add your blocks to my Share Your FWSQ Blocks Group on Flickr.
You can also see my FWSQ blocks here , at the top of my blog.

One day I will settle down and do a Farmer's Wife. I love your color choices. I might have to jump over to your Flickr group, too. Thanks for your post today.
ReplyDeleteYou would have made such a great farmer's wife! {Hmmm...I can't really see Al being a farmer, though, so it all worked out for the best!} The orange plus turquoise is my new favorite color palette - gorgeous!!! I think I'll have to trip over some stuff of my own and make up something in that combo...sew inspiring!
ReplyDeleteHi Susie. Your projects are all so beautiful and inspiring! I've been trying to narrow down some quilt alongs to commit to and admire Amanda's BAD idea! So many wonderful projects makes it so hard to choose. But as Mary Engelbreit says, "Too much of a good thing is wonderful!" (Which in double checking that quote is originally from Mae West in case anyone is interested).
ReplyDeleteI think it is you who is a bad influence on me. I am now hooked on paper-piecing! But hopefully I will make a FW block (or two or three) throughout the year. Love your colour combos.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely projects, Susie!! I do love the orange and turquoise combination, they compliment each other so well. Now that I have a few quilt blocks and tops, my first priority is to take care of them before starting anything new. Wish my luck :)

So much fun block making happening!!! I love your Farmer's Wife blocks!!! I need to dig mine out from the depths and make a few with you this year! I have the book but need to investigate getting the paper piecing patterns; someone else I know used the pp but I have forgotten who:(. I might be able to make them up myself but it would probably take me an eon!!!!
ReplyDeleteBravo to you Susie - getting started again on your FWS! That's a great book and I hope you keep on with it, it will be so much fun to see your interpretation! LOVE the cut glass dish block and cups and saucers! What a great fabric combo you chose!
ReplyDeleteI was definitely inspired by Amanda as well :) Even with doing PP. I'm so happy farming is not my thing, lol.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I missed seeing these FW blocks earlier - I love the turquoise and orange colors together, and paper piecing makes them perfect! I love 'em!
