Seeing Double... Zippers!

Seeing Double... Zippers!

Have you heard?  There's a new pattern,  by Amy , of  Amy Made That! ,  that makes it fun and easy  to sew a pouch with two exposed zippers, creating a double pouch.

Pattern available here

This is a fun pattern that allows you to be creative.  You can  mix and match fabrics, colored zippers, lace, ric rac, ribbons, and decorative trims to your heart's content!

Amy's tutorial pattern is written clearly and precisely, with lots of  pictures to explain the steps to make the pouch .    The project is a perfect match for both the  beginner  and the experienced zipper- sewer.

The Double Exposure Zippered Pouch    by Susie's Sunroom

Fabrics  used:   Harvest Wine Regional Map    by Susan Winget
                         Moss green fabric
                         TicTac  in gold for lining
Zippers-        2-   14 inch zippers-  Cedar Green  from  Zip It Etsy shop  ( awesome selection and prices!)
Lace-   approx 40 inches of 7/8 inch lace

My pouch

I quilted a few simple  zig zag lines on the  front sections, and  diamonds on the back side of the pouch, using Aurifil 50 wt thread.

The back side

There is a lot of room in each pouch

And did I mention that you can make this pouch in a morning!

This pouch will  be the perfect  gift...

Now I'll be looking for some pretty ribbons and lace, to have on hand, so  I can make lots  more  Double Exposure Zippered pouches!

I'm off to my sewing room!
