Making The Satchel Bag and a GIVEAWAY here!
Recently, I got to make a purse .. for a brand new pattern designed by Samantha, of At Home With Mrs H ! Samantha has a fun blog, and is such a talented purse designer.
Her latest bag is called The Satchel Bag :
The Satchel Bag designed by Samantha, of At Home With Mrs H |
Fabrics: Outer- Black denim with some striation lines throughout ( I wanted durable fabric)
Here's the button for the front flap |
Lining fabric : Elizabeth's Studio Stitch in Time Black Thimbles |
This is the black hardware for the adjustable strap |
The Satchel Bag ! made by Susie |
It has a roomy interior, with a zippered pocket. The flap is closed by 2 magnet snaps |
I love the side straps, with the buttons! I tucked the sides in a little to give my bag a little softer shape on the sides. |
I just adore this purse!! I love the across-the-body purse handle , and the decorative handle on top of the flap. Samantha has brought a modern shape to the classic satchel style.
Well, now I can tell you what the giveaway is! Samantha (not only talented, but generous, too!!) is giving me a pdf pattern of The Satchel Bag to give to a lucky winner !!
What do you have to do get your chance to win this pattern?
Simply.... in my comments, tell me what you belong to~
any Sew Along groups , or Block of the Months... or Sewing Bees... or Quilting Guilds... online and/or in person.....It's ok if you aren't in any. (No 'Quilt Police' around here. )
You can see who I hook- up with on the sidebars of my blog. I think it's so interesting to see what we are all doing around this big old world!

ReplyDeleteI belong to a quilt group who meet up once a week during school time (as we use the staff room in the school). We started off going to patchwork classes and when they finished after 8 years, we started meeting up ourselves.

ReplyDeleteNice bag. I lov etha tbobbin fabric you lined it with. I do not belong to a sewing guild or group. I do get togethrr with my sister and we sew often. I moved here to this very small rural are not quiet 2 years ago to be closer to family. Have yet to meet anyone else that sews or quilts. Going off to meetings and such has allways been a challenge any way as I stay home and take care of my adult special needs child. But I visit tons of blogs and often try to creat things from their tutorials. I enjoy quilting and sewing and creating everthing...lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a part of anything right now :( that sounds so sad to type... maybe soon I'll get some mojo back & start.
ReplyDeleteThe bag you made is fabulous. Love the fabric and what a great button you found too.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to enter the draw please.

ReplyDeleteHi there!
ReplyDeleteI am relatively new to sewing (have been only sewing for 2 years), BUT I am totally addicted. Addicted to sewing (bags and quilts) and sewing blogs. As I work full time, I dont belong to any "groups" as such, but I have done "block of the month", sewing lessons with an awesome teacher (which is like going to a sewing group), and just love the amazing blogs all you amazing ladies seem to produce! PS.. your bag looks amazing, I have been following Mrs H for a while now.
Sandra (Australia)
I love your version of the bag. Samantha's patterns are brilliant, so well written.
ReplyDeleteI've just joined the brand new East Midland's Quilt Guild and I'm pretty excited about it!
I love this bag, I will have to put it on the to do list. I am not a part of a group, but I do follow a lot of blogs. Thanks for the giveaway. vickise at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI used to belong to 3 different sewing groups until I moved 3+ hrs away. None that I know of so far so may start one up myself. Just for fun. Thanks for the chance to win. dreamscapestudio.ca

ReplyDeleteI love your bag - it's a shape I love and you've made a super job of it! Nice to know the hardware wasn't too scary!
ReplyDeleteI go to an informal sewing club in a church hall every week and attend Yorkshire Modern Quilt Guild meetings every three months or so.
I have been doing the Lucky Stars block of the month with "Don't Call Me Betsy". It is so fun, with one block per month, I can't wait until the 1st of the next month rolls around.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway. I love the Satchel Bag.
Unfortunately, my time for sewing is not much, so I avoid entering sew-alongs - I am afraid I won't be able to keep up with it! :) But I really am very tempted ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity!
I love the satchel bag! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteAs a fairly new quilter/sewer (I have only begun in earnest since my retirement) I have not joined any groups yet, but will be going to a quilt show at the closest guild and will speak to someone when I am there. I can't wait until April 5th to see all of the beautiful quilts and to join the guild!
I'm in a local quilt guild but haven't attended meetings as it is a little far. Thanks for the giveaway :)
